For a Safer, Better Burn
Of course we want you to buy and burn more candles. Preferably Niland Candle Co. But we also don’t want to see you burn money any faster than you have to.
To maximize your candle’s shelf life, it's crucial to following these key steps.
Your first burn is the most important, light your candle and burn it until the wax has melted to the edge of the container. Usually this takes one to two hours depending on the diameter of your candle. When you see wet wax reach the edge of your candle’s container, it’s time to blow it out.
The next time you light your candle, we recommend trimming the wick to ¼”. Any wick longer creates a bigger, brighter flame, which burns more wax in a shorter amount of time, reducing the shelf life of your candle. Remember, a shorter wick creates a cleaner burn with way less soot.
To be safe, we recommend you avoid burning candles in glass jars without ample wax. Always burn candles on fire safe or heat resistant surfaces and keep them out of reach of pets and children. And don't forget to recycle your containers once the candle has run its course.
